Greedy People (2024) is a comedy/crime movie directed by Mike Vukadinovich. It deals with two cops who find a bag of money in a house where a crime happened. Below is my Greedy People (2024) movie review
So one of the big things about this movie is the fact that it was not marketed right. If you look at a trailer you will see a lot of comedic elements thrown about. While those elements are certainly present, there are also more darker things happening towards the end of the movie. By the end of the movie, you will see this as more of a dark comedy. A lot of things go wrong and it also steers into more of a crime territory.
As the movie opens, we are met with new policemen Will, played by Himesh Patel. He is partnered with Terry, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Terry is one of those nosy policemen who goes over a few things that Will needs to remember as he is new in town. As they go around town Will gets a call that he answers that ends in an accident. Once his partner arrives, they find a huge pile of cash and decide to keep it. From this point on many things happen. Many of them are cliches but they were still fun. If you ever saw a crime comedy, you will see a lot of things coming a mile away.
There is not a lot of action in this movie. However some of it is sprinkled throughout the movie, so it never feels stale. However the ending seems a bit rushed. They were also not afraid to kill some major characters. Besides that, the ending is really depressing. Without spoiling it, let’s just say don’t get attached to any characters. Some are good and some are bad, but a lot of them end up dead. Think of the movie as a very random crime comedy that has a lot of characters that are not very smart.
This movie is very similar to the Coen Brothers movies in terms of randomness. It is also compared to a Quentin Tarantino movie, but not as bloody. It is well made and the characters are stupid but still pretty relatable. Again, as long as you don’t get attached to any characters, you will have a lot of fun watching this movie.
