In Order of Disappearance (2014) is a Norwegian black comedy action movie that not many people know about. Directed by Hans Petter Moland and starring a mild mannered man named Nils (played by Stellan Skarsgård). Below is my quick In Order of Disappearance (2014) movie review

Set in a fictional snowy town named Tyos (full name not revealed), a mild mannered snow plow operator is living a slow life that seems to suit his needs. After learning of his son’s death, he starts to rethink life. As he finds out more about it, he realizes that the whole incident goes much deeper than he suspected. The police seem to have closed the case forcing Nils to take the matter into his hands.

As things start escalating, more and more people get involved and eventually get killed. The violence is very graphic in many situations with blood splattering everywhere. Once the other gangs get involved (Serbian and Norwegian), everything gets messed up. We get a feel of Nils and his character. WHile not very affectionate, Nils is a good human being with not much of a training in taking down criminals. He is an ordinary man who takes his time and analyzes his situation knowing he will eventually get the guy on top. He in a sense creates chaos where every gang is pointing at rival gangs and saying its their fault their guys are disappearing so fast.

People are saying that this movie is as if Quentin tarantino did a movie in the arctic with tons of graphic violence. Others are also saying it is more of Fargo (1996) due to having comedic elements that can be satirical in nature. In any case, i think the movie has something for everyone. While it can get slow at times, something is always happening to keep me interested. In many ways these characters seem like caricatures of normal human beings. They act or talk strangely to the people around them. It certainly won’t appeal to everybody but it is fun to watch.
