No One Will Save You (2023) is a horror thriller movie directed by Brian Duffield. It deals with a woman who is shunned fighting aliens that have invaded her homes. Below is my No One Will Save You (2023) movie review
At the beginning we see a woman living alone in an isolated house. She has a lot of anxiety and the neighbors that are around seem to shun her. She tries to not let it bother her as she goes about her business. Not long after she is visited by something creepy that enters her house and makes weird noises. These noises are really creepy, a mix of trilling and bone breaking/twitchy sounds.
After trying to get help and not getting much in return, she tries her best to fight back and defend her house. While the movie never really dragged, this is also the time when the movie starts to pick up. The aliens that attack her house have a few different sizes which makes her think on her feet and fight them in different ways. While she has a lot of anxiety and feels lost, she finds ways to get rid of these aliens one by one. My favorite one is the car exploding. It was unique and I did not expect her to be able to fight against it.
The aliens themselves are very conventional in the way their head looks. Their bodies however are very nimble. They can move around quietly but are also very intimidating as they can be very fast and aggressive. They don’t have weapons but they are still very dangerous. As mentioned when they move, we hear this crunchy noise like their bones are breaking. It can be very intimidating as sometimes they just sit around and look menacingly at the main girl.
Speaking of the main girl, she is played by Kaitlyn Dever. She does not say almost anything during the entire movie. The movie itself is very minimalistic in settings as well as dialogue. Most of the movie is set in the house but the director does a good job with using it to have the actress avoid the aliens and run away from them. She does her best to not scream while avoid creatures that are very much attracted to any noise around them.
With all of that in mind, this movie is very fun. It should have been set to go to theaters, but currently it is a Hulu US original. It has some good scenes with aliens with plenty of them looking very creepy. The aliens are based on sketches from 1950 from people who claimed to have encountered the gray ones.
The movie is short and goes by very fast. The ending is OK, but not the srtrongest part of the movie. Some good acting by Kaitlyn who had to carry the movie herself without saying much or interacting with others. There was not much gore, but there was some violence once she decided to fight back.
